Ali Steed, editor-in-chief, Expat Lifeplan

Ali is an expat finance expert having spent the last 20+ years working on The Daily Telegraph’s Weekly World Edition both online and offline. She has written extensively on expat topics, created various country guides and helped thousands of expats get better deals on their money.

She is a multi-award winning writer, editor and broadcaster having written for most of the UK national press, and also doing extensive radio and TV work, including the Jeremy Vine Show and Sky News.

She was also the journalist behind the hit Channel 4 show Superscrimpers, and continues to contribute ideas and expertise to TV shows today.

In her spare time, Ali travels the world to take part in Ironman Triathlons, and was part of the ladies team to win the National Ladies BBAR Championship in 2009.



Steve Naylor, director, Expat Lifeplan

Steve is a proven leader and business development professional in the financial services, property, legal and insurance sectors. Steve was co-founder of the UK’s largest mass-market pensions advisory firm Profile Financial, and prior to this was managing director and CEO of highly successful pensions and legal services companies.

Steve spends part of the year in the UK, and part of the year in Spain, so is very familiar with the needs of expats who are either living and working or retired overseas.




Ian Floyed, director, Expat Lifeplan

Ian was the co-founder of Profile Financial with Steve, and was also instrumental in setting up MyHomeMove, the UK’s largest online legal services business. It has 700 staff based in Leicester, Northampton and Manchester, and a further 150 qualified legal staff in India.

Ian and Steve started Profile Financial Solutions in 2013 with a high quality management team to deliver advice on pensions to low net worth mass market clients. this business is now the largest pension adviser for this sector in the UK, with over £500m in funds under management.

In 2016 a new CEO was appointed to Profile, and Ian took over as chairman, which allowed him and a first-class management team to start Expat Lifeplan, a business providing both legal and financial advice to expats worldwide.
